  • Little Red Hen Too is moving!

    Nov 15, 2017

The plants aren't the only things growing at Little Red Hen Plant Nursery! After over 10 years of service, the back lot is closing to make room for some exciting expansions. "Little Red Hen Too" as it was affectionately called, was used to grow trees, houseplants, and vegetables for the main Nursery yard.

New Park & Garden Instructor Mark H joined the team back in September, and he revealed that he was told about about the upcoming plans when he was hired. "We are going to be growing house plants and veggies from seed over at Park and Garden." Little Red Hen's newest program, Tools & Trade will be taking over planting 16-gallon trees. Once the seeds are healthy enough, these plants and trees will be transported and sold at Plant Nursery

This new expansion comes after the inclusion of the new shade awning, just in time to welcome new fall temperatures and pave the way for fall colors, plants, and vegetables. The original "one shed and a dream" location on Keefer Road will also be growing vegetables and houseplants in two greenhouses.

Plant Nursery Manager Ruben R revealed that the decision to use the Keefer Road Greenhouses was to have more control over what they were putting in the soil. With all of these big changes happening, be sure to stop by Plant Nursery to add a touch of fall to your home!
