The Emperor Tarot card symbolizes stability and security in life. The licorice plant has been used as a medicinal herb and natural sweetener in candy creations for many centuries. Once the plant is three years old the roots can be harvested in autumn. This beautiful plant is brilliantly decorated with lavender-blue flowers in summer and early fall. Perennial. Glycyrrhiza glabra Each envelope contains 15 seeds. Instructions: Start seeds in the early spring indoors. Seeds need 68ºF to germinate. It is recommended to soak the seeds in tepid water for 24 hours before sowing. Keep moist but not soggy until germination occurs. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Plant: 1/4" deep Space: 24"-36" apart Germination: 21-60 days Maturity: 3 years for root harvest Soil: rich, plenty of organic matter Hardiness: Zones 7-10
