We here at Laughing Elephant have scoured our extensive library for vintage illustrations that depict children and the sea. In this book, we pair these images with a simple text that celebrates the beach from a child's perspective. By the Sea includes illustrations from artists such as Pelagie Doane, Henriette Willebeek Le Mair, Millicent Sowerby, Susan Beatrice Pearse, and Jessie Willcox Smith. These illustrations are nostalgic, charming, unique, and so full of life and color that you feel like you’re standing at the shore! By the Sea also includes easy-to-read text that makes it perfect for younger children to peruse.
