Stay Hydrated This Summer

Summer is here! Now that temperatures are starting to rise into the 90s, all of us need to drink lots of water, about 8 cups a day, which could very well be even more during hot summer days. Staying hydrated is essential to being healthy.

Water Keeps You Going

Drinking enough water helps you to perform your best in physical activity. Staying hydrated can aid in weight loss and regular water consumption will help to rid your body of toxins. Not having enough water to drink can cause you a variety of negative effects especially in the summer. Heat stroke, energy loss, headaches, lack of concentration and even blurred vision can happen if you are dehydrated. 

Re-Use to Refuel

While it is tempting and convenient to you a plastic water bottle, Plastic bottles are rather large pieces of trash and don't break down as easily as straws, grocery store bags, or other forms of plastic.

 According to a study from the Centers for Disease Control, over 200 billion plastic bottles are produced every year, with the US using 2 million every 5 minutes.  Every year 18 billion plastic bottles enter waters off the coastline. How do we stop it?

Make the Move to Steel
