Lance S. recently competed in his first Special Olympics track and field competition. It wasn't easy, but he did amazing.
On the track, Lance competed in two events. He took fifth place in the 200-meter dash and was second in the 4x1 relay. Lance said the competition in these races was strong, and running them was difficult to say the least, and it's impressive how well Lance and his 4x1 team did.
Lance's greatest achievement was in the shot put. With a winning throw of 14 ft., he took first place. Great job, Lance!
Although he enjoyed the track and field meet, Lance is planning on focusing on swimming next summer. He has competed in Special Olympics swimming events in the past, and is looking forward to doing so again. Good luck, Lance!
