Recipe for Healthy Apple Crisp:
Ingredients:
4 cups apples, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch thick pieces-about 1 pound
1Tbsp. Coconut oil, melted
½ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Ground ginger
¼ tsp. Nutmeg
1 cup old fashioned oats
⅓ cup pecans, chopped
2Tbsp. Coconut oil
1Tbsp. Maple syrup
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat the oven to 350 and prepare a greased 8x8-inch baking pan.
- Peel and cut apples into ¼ inch-thick slices.
- Melt coconut oil. Toss apples with coconut oil, cinnamon, and ginger. Set aside.
- Mix together crisp topping.
- Pour the apples into a baking dish. Layer the crisp topping evenly on top of the apples.
- Cover the apple crisp with aluminum foil and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Remove the cover and bake for another 10 to 20 minutes. Until the apples are fork-tender and the crisp topping is golden brown, makes 4 servings.
